Delhi witnessed mass protests after gang rape of 22year old paramedic student in December 2012 and 5 year old child in Arpril 2013.

A seven-year-old girl was allegedly raped in Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh by a 15-year-old boy on 5 June and then murdered three weeks after the incident in order to stop her from sharing details of the crime.

According to Deccan Chronicle, the police refused to register a complaint against the alleged rape that took place earlier this month, but they eventually arrested the teenage suspect on Sunday.

However two days after the arrest, the child was dragged out of her home at night by five people, including the father of the alleged rapist and was stabbed to death to stop her from testifying, reported DC.

Adding to the ghastly nature of the incident, the parents of the child were not allowed to cremate her body. An NDTV report says that when the parents objected to their daughter's body being buried, they were assaulted by the police instead.

The Uttar Pradesh police told NDTV that handing her body over to the family would have triggered a potential law and order problem; but they did not comment on why the child's body was being buried instead.
