Petitions of this nature lead to causing more agitations and do not help in the endeavour to restore peace, the Chief Justice of India said.
The woman, a former employee of the Supreme Court, said "I have a right to the report, the reasons for the same as well as copies of the depositions of any witnesses."
"Today we are facing unprecedented crisis of credibility of Supreme Court," activists from women’s groups and members of civil society said in an open letter.
