Before the apps were banned, Alibaba's UC Browser had been downloaded at least 689 million times in India, while UC News had 79.8 million downloads.
Ma formally left Alibaba on Tuesday and delivered on his promise of a year ago to hand over to CEO Daniel Zhang.
Ma, who turns 55 on Tuesday, will have his farewell party at the 80,000-capacity Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center stadium.
