Mumbai received the highest rainfall of the season within just 12 hours on Wednesday, BMC said.
BMC has appealed to residents to stay at home and urged commercial establishments to remain closed on Tuesday.

Private weather agency Skymet said Mumbai is at “serious risk of flooding” between Wednesday and Friday.
Rescue workers said the 15-year-old girl had been crying for help and asking for water since 2 am, but was brought out dead from under the debris in the afternoon on Tuesday.
Mumbaikars opened up their homes and offices amid rains that has brought the city to a standstill.
