NEW BEDFORD, États-Unis - Deux ressortissants étrangers ont été arrêtés, samedi, en lien avec des violations de loi de l'immigration dans la ville de l'État du Massachusetts où, selon la police, l'un des deux suspects dans les attentats du marathon de Boston pourrait avoir vécu.

Des responsables du Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) ont confirmé que des agents du Homeland Security avaient appréhendé deux personnes à New Bedford.

Un porte-parole du ICE n'a pas voulu donner de détails sur les personnes ayant été arrêtées ni sur la possibilité qu'elles soient liées au suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, toujours hospitalisé dans un état critique après une fusillade avec la police vendredi.

L'ICE n'a pas précisé si les deux individus étaient soupçonnés d'avoir commis un crime. Une porte-parole du procureur fédéral a refusé de commenter.

Selon la police de New Bedford, les autorités fédérales ont effectué des recherches dans des résidences hors-campus près de l'école, vendredi, et ont arrêté trois personnes à des fins d'interrogatoire. La police croit que Dzhokhar Tsarnaev pourrait avoir vécu dans une de ces résidences.
