Abukar Adan is a rising senior at Colby College, where he is pursuing a double major in Government and Education. A first generation immigrant, hailing from the horn of Africa, Abukar draws inspiration from his parents’ sacrifices. He is currently the Jim Dowe Intern at Maine Public Broadcasting Network. He is also an Editorial Assistant for the Colby Magazine, a Future Global Leaders Fellow and a Ralph J. Bunche Scholar. Abukar enjoys reading creative nonfiction, watching documentaries and dismantling facile arguments.
