André Corrêa d’Almeida, Ph.D., M.Sc., is a professor, political economist, social entrepreneur and author. With academic, management and leadership experience in the U.S., Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia and China, Corrêa d’Almeida’s notable strengths include the synchronization of collaborative platforms in very complex and highly ambiguous institutional environments and the design of learning environments. André Corrêa d’Almeida is the Master in Development Practice's Assistant Director and Adjunct Associate Professor, School of International and Public Affairs, Columbia University. He also led programs at The Earth Institute and School of Social Work at Columbia. Professor Corrêa d’Almeida has had research published in several areas of Social Economics and Institutional Development and has received research awards from the University of Colorado at Denver, George Washington University, and the Portuguese Government. Corrêa d’Almeida led or leads several Columbia University initiatives that he designed and developed for China, Kazakhstan and Jordan. He is currently coordinating two edited volumes on smart cities in NYC and political reform in Portugal. Prior to joining Columbia University André Corrêa d’Almeida, a native of Lisbon, Portugal, received his Ph.D. in Public Affairs from the University of Colorado Denver (U.S.), a M.Sc. in Program Management from the University of Saint Joseph (China) and a Licenciatura (B.Sc.) in Economics from New University of Lisbon (Portugal).
