Editor-in-Chief, American Chamber of Commerce in Japan
Adario Strange is originally from New York City's Lower East Side, and
considers Tompkins Square Park hallowed ground. In 2004 Strange wrote
and directed the Japanese language film Hikikomori: Tokyo Plastic, a fictional film shot on-location in Tokyo, Japan exploring the very real psychological phenomenon in Japan called "hikikomori" (urban hermit). In 2005 he directed the documentary The NYU Suicides, a film detailing a troubling series of tragic deaths at the famed
university.
He has done commercials for Nike, Cadbury Schweppes UK, produced music
for the late Tupac Shakur, and has also been a New York FM/AM radio
talk show host, a VP at MCA/Universal Records and the Editor-In-Chief
of pioneering youth brand The Source magazine. In recent years he also
served as the Editor-in-Chief of the alt-weekly newspaper New York
Press and as a tech business columnist for Wired.com.
Currently, Strange is the Editor-in-Chief of the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan
Journal, International Editor for the SyFy Channel's DVICE tech site and is working on creating a new search database of Asia startups at Zenroll.com
