Andrew Isaac Burrill

TED Speaker, Writer, Arts Advocate

Andrew recently graduated from the University of Virginia with a double major in Media Studies and Drama and is currently a M.S. Candidate for Performing Arts Leadership and Management at Shenandoah Conservatory. He has served as a delegate from the University of Virginia to the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) on matters pertaining to diversity, family background, and leadership. Just recently, Andrew spoke at the TED Conference on the power of the arts and has been featured for his positive work towards generational social change on media outlets such as CNN, NBC, and the Washington Post. In his spare time he enjoys ranting about the relevancy of the arts in America, streaking UVA’s historic lawn, and contemplating whether or not Olivia Pope ever shops in the clearance section. Andrew consistently finds great pleasure in stratifying and reconstructing today’s social norms by means of non-heteronormative practices, i.e., Bye, Felicia.
