Aileen Gitelson is CEO of JASA (Jewish Association Serving the Aging) -– New York’s largest agency serving older adults –- providing social, recreational, health, culture and educational programs for older adults, regardless of race, religion or ethnicity.

Since 1968, JASA (www.jasa.org) and its affiliates with its 3,000 staff and volunteers, have provided social, recreational, health, cultural and educational programs for older adults -- regardless of their race, religion, or ethnicity -- to help sustain them in their homes and communities and to offer opportunities for a better quality of life. Services are available in Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, Bronx, Nassau and Suffolk Counties.

Volunteers enable JASA to offer a wide range of high-quality services. From teaching classes and offering lectures at senior centers to building on-on-one relationships through friendly visiting programs, volunteers make a significant difference in the quality of life of the older adults served by JASA.
