Alejandro González Arreola

Co-founder and Executive Director of GESOC, A.C.

Alejandro is co-founder and Executive Director of GESOC, A.C., a Mexican research-based civil society organization (CSO) committed to improve the effectiveness, transparency and responsiveness of government towards social value creation. He is currently the civil society Co-chair of the Open Government Partnership Steering Committee, a Board Member of the Accountability Network and Co-founder of the Collective for a Long-term Sustainable Budget in Mexico. Alejandro is the creator of the Performance Index of Social Programs in Mexico, an international awarded initiative that make use of public data to assess and rank social policies in Mexico according to their value for money aiming to enhance policy decisions. Alejandro is also a lecturer of postgraduate courses in social development and public policy at the Universidad Panamericana in Mexico City. He holds a MBA Public Service degree by the University of Birmingham, UK and has undertaken postgraduate courses at the John F. Kennedy School in Harvard and at the European Institute of Public Administration in Barcelona, Spain.
