AliveCor CEO Vic Gundotra brings more than 20 years of consumer and engineering management experience from some of the most successful technology companies in the world. For more than 8 years, Vic was at Google, where he most recently served as senior vice president from 2011 until April 2014, heading up the company’s social initiatives, including Photos, Hangouts, and Google+. Vic joined Google in 2007 as vice president of engineering, where he was responsible for mobile application development, including product management and marketing. These included developing mobile versions of YouTube, Gmail, Maps, and Search. He also led the company’s developer evangelism and application development efforts and launched Google I/O. Prior to Google, Vic spent 15 years at Microsoft, where he worked on a variety of products and operating systems, including Windows 3.0, NT, Windows XP, and Vista. He was recognized by MIT as a “Young Innovator under 35” for his work in sparking Microsoft’s change from Win32 to the .NET programming model. More recently, Vic was general manager of Microsoft’s developer outreach efforts worldwide, including evangelism and strategy for products like Windows Vista, Visual Studio, Microsoft Office, Microsoft CRM and Windows Mobile. Vic holds several patents in the area of distributed computing and identity-based access to cloud resources.
