award winning artist who writes and caricatures interpretations of the temper of the times.

Part educator and part artist, Allen taught behavioral sciences in public school for 34 years, as well as exhibited and published his artwork. He was the political editorial cartoonist for the Multnomah Village Voice in Portland, Oregon. After retiring from the classroom, Allen turned his full attention to creating verbal and visual interpretations of the temper of our times as "art that polices politics." He is a member of the International Society of Caricature Artists, The Oregon Society of Artists, creator and publisher of "Occupied By Politics, 2012," winner of numerous art awards, continues to write, caricature and exhibit his original narrative paintings and drawings. Allen has been an active contributor to Backstage HuffPost since 2013.
