Alpita Shah

Attorney specializing in finance and economic development

Alpita Shah is a Counsel in the Emerging Markets Finance practice at the Chicago headquarters of a global law firm, Mayer Brown LLP, and is pro-bono counsel to non-profits focusing on community economic development. She also is studying yoga therapeutics and serves on the boards of the Zen Life and Meditation Center of Chicago and an eco-retreat and sanctuary in rural Illinois.

Previously, Alpita was a lawyer and senior policy advisor at the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the World Bank in Washington D.C., working on projects in Africa, India, Eastern Europe and the Middle East.

She has a J.D. from Yale Law School and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign.
