Alyson Gounden Rock

Work/Family Policy Consultant and Writer

Alyson Gounden Rock is a gender policy researcher and writer focusing on workplace gender inequality and the flexibility penalty. She is passionate about finding and implementing solutions to the flexibilty penalty that shuts out so much talent from the workplace.

Alyson is a Fellow in the Center for Public Leadership and the Women and Public Policy Program at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government where she works in the area of Gender Policy, Negotiation, Women and Power and more broadly in sparking Social Innovation.

She has extensive experience as an entrepreneur, a strategy consultant with Bain & Company and PwC and has advised companies on strategic planning in the social and private sectors.

Alyson lives in Cambridge, MA with her husband and three children, aged 9, 15 and 17. All views expressed are her own.
