Amanda Lepore

Artist, Musician, Fashion Icon

Amanda Lepore is an internationally renowned walking work of art and New York City's reigning queen of nightlife for three decades. Paving the way for today's "trans revolution," Amanda is one of the world's most famous transsexuals. After transitioning at age seventeen, Lepore shed her troubled youth, escaped an abusive marriage, and recreated herself in the image of old Hollywood–glamour. She worked as a dominatrix, performed at the Limelight, and had a close friendship with her one-time boss “Party Monster” Michael Alig. But, it was when pop culture visionary David LaChapelle walked into her life that she again transitioned, this time from a beautiful nightlife denizen with to an icon. LaChapelle’s ingenious photographs made Lepore an international art, music, and fashion star.
