Amanda Moreno, Ph.D.

Amanda Moreno, Ph.D., a Developmental Psychologist whose expertise is in child development, early learning, and program design and evaluation, is the Associate Director of the Marsico Institute for Early Learning and Literacy at the University of Denver (www.du.edu/marsicoinstitute). She received her doctorate from the University of Denver and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. She has published first-authored articles in refereed scientific journals on topics such as early childhood assessment, and emotional and cognitive development. Currently, she conducts research and consults with early learning settings to improve child development knowledge and the quality of all adult-child interactions. Dr. Moreno has extensively reviewed the evidence on high-stakes testing and has published her thoughts on its perils in the Denver Post online, been interviewed on BAM! Radio, and facilitated a national conference call with top early childhood experts. Dr. Moreno has also been interviewed for Parents and Parenting magazines, is a mother of three, and is frequently asked for child development and parenting advice from her friends, family, and colleagues.
