Entrepreneur, Marketing Expert, Mother & Blogger

I'm a 30-something who got married right out of college and started a family not too long after. I always knew that I wanted to be a mom, but what I didn’t know is that I would discover a love for entrepreneurship. I was a stay-at-home mom on Nantucket when a friend asked me to help her set up a website. One thing led to another, and soon I was designing and developing websites as a freelancer – plus helping with all sorts of other marketing-related things. I eventually realized that not only was I good at online marketing, but I liked it too, and after freelancing off and on for three years, in 2014, I decided to get serious about making my business legitimate. By May of 2016 I had successfully grown the business enough that my husband gave notice at his day job and joined me full time. In addition to running my company, Road Warrior Creative, in January 2015, I also founded and became the board chair of a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Allied Women Entrepreneurs, which helps women to start and grow businesses. I’m a co-organizer at the Fort Collins WordPress Meetup, and an instructor at the Larimer Small Business Development Center.
