Amra Sabic-El-Rayess is an Associate Professor of Practice in the Education Policy and Social Analysis Department at Columbia University’s Teachers College. Her forthcoming book, JIHAD'S TEXTBOOK: CHANGING THE SYLLABUS is based on rare exclusive interviews with extremist disciples. Dr. Sabic-El-Rayess obtained her PhD in Comparative and International Education with specialization in Economics at Columbia University’s Teachers College. She holds a Masters of Philosophy from Columbia University’s Teachers College and Masters in Economic and Political Development from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, as well as a B.A. in Economics from Brown University. Her current research and publications focus on education and radicalization, changes in social norms and beliefs, elite formation, corruption, social mobility, inequity, and transitional justice.
