Angela Dumlao was recently featured in NBC Asian America’s inaugural #RedefineAtoZ list of emerging Asian American and Pacific Islander voices for their dedication to inclusive activism. As a queer trans non-binary first-generation Filipinx-American theatre artist and activist, Angela’s focus is on affirming and uplifting marginalized folx and their intersectional identities. Angela is the creator of the social justice Facebook page Call Me They, which was featured on Brit and Co. and Planned Parenthood’s Pink Out / Power Up! for their trans and gender non-conforming inclusive #ShePersisted viral image shares. They are the director and co-producer of the one-woman show Post Traumatic Super Delightful (PTSD) which has been featured with Glamour Magazine’s Top Ten College Women, Marie Claire Magazine, and Autostraddle.com. Angela graduated from Vassar College with a degree in Psychology and Drama, where they were awarded the Molly Thacher Kazan Prize for distinction in Theatre Arts. They are also a proud member of the Filipino American Democratic Club of New York and alum of GenSexNYC, The Welcoming Committee, and The Powerhouse Theater. Angela lives in Brooklyn with their partner, Caitlin.
