Angie Chuang an associate professor of journalism at American University in Washington, D.C. whose research focuses on race, identity and the media. Prior to joining the AU faculty, she was a newspaper journalist for 13 years, on staff at The Oregonian, The Hartford Courrant and the Los Angeles Times. She is the author of “The Four Words for Home” (Willow Books, 2014), an award-winning dual memoir about the intersections between the immigration stories of an Afghan family and her own Chinese American family.
