Angie Maxwell, Ph.D. is the Director of the Diane Blair Center of Southern Politics and Society and holds the Diane D. Blair Endowed Chair of Southern Studies in the department of political science at the University of Arkansas. She is the author of The Indicted South: Public Criticism, Southern Inferiority, and the Politics of Whiteness (University of North Carolina Press, 2014) which received the V. O. Key Award for Best Book in Southern Politics. She is currently writing a new book, entitled The Long Southern Strategy, for Oxford University Press.
