Anja Rudiger

Director of Programs, National Economic and Social Rights Initiative

Anja Rudiger is Director of Programs at the National Economic and Social Rights Initiative. Anja works with grassroots groups and coalitions to develop human rights strategies and tools to advance social and economic justice, particularly in the areas of health care reform and budget/revenue policies. She is an expert on human rights and equality, with extensive experience integrating a rights-based approach to policy-making at local, national and international levels. Previously, Anja carried out consultancies for governmental and non-governmental organizations, led the research department at the British Refugee Council in London, and managed the UK Secretariat of the European Monitoring Centre on Racism and Xenophobia. She received her Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Kiel in Germany.
