I am passionate about teaching people how to live a vibrant life with optimal health by focusing on clean nutrition and lifestyle changes.

While I now enjoy vibrant health and vitality, for over 20 years I was a doctor’s nightmare. I lived with chronic arthritis, fibromyalgia, irritable bowel syndrome, asthma and general chronic exhaustion. I was also diagnosed with osteoporosis in my early thirties despite having a large intake of dairy all my life. Over the course of the years I consulted many doctors to ease my pain. Some medications gave me short-term pain relief but the side-effects introduced new medical conditions which then required more medication to deal with the side-effects! I chose to stop taking most of those medications because of the side-effects and instead relied on prescription-strength pain killers to cope with the debilitating pain. At one stage I had to increase the dosage of pain killers to unheard of levels each day, just to be able to function. Every day was a struggle. I resigned myself to living with the chronic pain and accepted it as my destiny. Fortunately for me, fate intervened. I felt a stirring within me. My subconscious mind was telling me to fight back. Answering this call was the best decision I ever made. I undertook a long path of spiritual awakening and worked with some of the best spiritual teachers in the world, among them Dr. Wayne Dyer who was pivotal to my transformation. I also undertook many personal development courses with incredible health and wellness teachers and leaders such as Dr. Deepak Chopra, Dr. Eben Alexander, Dr. Bruce Lipton, Anita Moorjani, Carolyn Myss, Nick Otter, Cheryl Richardson, and many others. I started to intensely examine different aspects of my life with a strong focus on self-care and nutrition. My dislike for junk food had lulled me into a false sense of security that I was making the right food choices. The reality was quite a shock to me. The food I was eating was in fact the reason for my poor health. I resolved to undertake a nutritional detox based on smoothies and raw food which I designed intuitively and stuck to for 28 days. Within a week, I began to notice the change within me and I started to heal. Gradually all of the life-long medical problems I was saddled with disappeared and I began to feel vibrant and healthy. I threw away my medication and my body repaired itself in a way that I could never have dreamed was possible. That’s not all. Before my very eyes, my skin which had become dull and lifeless began to glow. My hair regained its lustrous feel. Over the next few years, the change in diet also resulted in a marked increase in my bone density. My whole body had begun to repair itself at a cellular level. Finally, I was free of the prescription medication which was doing my body more harm than good. The transformation I had achieved in mind and body didn’t happen by chance. It took tremendous will-power, years of learning and the discipline to stay on course to living a healthy life. However, having said that, once I was healed, I found it easy to stay on track as I had no desire to go back to being unwell. Along the way I studied to become a Certified Integrative Nutrition and Wellness Coach. I soon realised there were thousands of men and women all over the world who could benefit from what I had learned during my health and wellness journey. To deny others the opportunity to live a healthy and disease-free life would be selfish, and I wanted to touch the lives of as many people as I could. Thus, I decided to leave my career as a secondary school teacher and I decided to start My Kitchen Heals, a movement dedicated to show people how vibrant health is achieved through the foods we eat. Conventional medicine is about treating the illness whereas my aim is to show you how to prevent the illness in the first place! I help busy people clean up their diets, eliminate poor lifestyle choices, live an energetic life and get their mojo back. What sets me apart is my ability to heal illnesses associated with the gut, diabetes, osteoporosis, arthritis and other inflammatory diseases by matching individual body and genotype with specific foods. I also show people how they can gain the amazing health benefits of following a gluten and dairy-free lifestyle. The other thing that sets me apart is that as a former teacher, I use my teaching skills to educate and inform people about the “why” around the recommendations made so that they have the incentive to stay on track. I welcome you to experience health and vitality at a level which will leave you with a zest for life like you have never experienced…beginning with a shift in mindset and the food in your kitchen pantry and refrigerator.
