LGBTQ Activist, VP of Program Development & Community Relations for You Can Play
Anna Aagenes is an LGBTQ activist, writer, and speaker. She is one of the Co-Founders of GO! (Generation Out) Athletes, the nation’s first educational organization dedicated to LGBTQ student-athletes. Anna also serves as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Pennsylvania State Representative Brian Sims. Previously, Anna worked for the Adolescent Initiative (AI) at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, which serves young people who are living with HIV/AIDS.
Anna graduated from the University of Pennsylvania as a member of Phi Beta Kappa and as a major in Gender, Society and Culture (GSOC). As the team captain for the Women's Track & Field and Cross Country teams, she became a two-time NCAA Regional qualifier and a school record holder in three events. She currently resides in Center City, Philadelphia.
