Aparna Iyer, MD


Dr. Iyer is board-certified with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She is a holistic and integrative psychiatrist with a focus on wellness through behavior modification, lifestyle changes and psychodynamic psychotherapy. She completed her residency training in psychiatry in New York. She was selected as a Chief Resident during her final year of residency. She then remained at Albany Medical Center, where she worked as an assistant professor, faculty member, clinical educator and member of the Student Psychological Services for students and residents in medical training. She currently works in a private practice in Frisco, Texas, and as an assistant professor at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. She treats all adult mental health illnesses with a special interest in women’s mental health, including those patients in the peri- and post- partum stages. Dr. Iyer is a contributor to the Huffington Post and various other sites, including MindBodyGreen and Kevin MD. She is currently writing her first book.
