Educator, Environmentalist, & Motivational Speaker, with experience in project management, volunteer and employment coordination, fundraising & donor relations
Alyssa Reynoso Morris (formerly known as Alyssa Ramos-Reynoso) earned a B.A. in political science and graduated magna cum laude from Arcadia University with Phi Alpha Sigma, Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Beta Delta honors. She founded and was the CEO of Schools for Sustainability, Inc. after she conceptualized the idea of building an environmentally sustainable school at the age of 15. Alyssa envisioned a world where each human being was empowered via education, while fostering environmental stewardship. Her personal experience overcoming homelessness and her time abroad clarified her vision. She interned for Parvati Swayamrojgaar, a micro-finance organization working to break the poverty cycle in the slums of India, taught English at an orphanage in Tanzania, and facilitated the establishment of the Women’s Witness Protection Program for the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda. She assembled a team of 70 volunteers that built a water purification system and an aquaponic unit (produced both fish and crops in a closed loop system without waste) in the Monte Plata region of the Dominican Republic. The newly-married Afro-Latina, educator, environmentalist and motivational speaker is focusing her efforts locally.
