Aryeh Ben David

Director, Ayeka: Center for Soulful Jewish Education

Aryeh Ben David was born in the U.S. and moved to Israel in 1978. Aryeh received Rabbinical Ordination from the Israeli Rabbinate and taught at the Pardes Institute in Jerusalem from 1987-2007, serving as the Director of Spiritual Education, and served as the Rabbinical Educational Consultant for Hillel International from 2004-2007. He is the author of "The Godfile: 10 Approaches to Personalizing Prayer" and "Around the Shabbat Table: A Guide to Fulfilling and Meaningful Shabbat Table Conversations." After teaching for many years, Aryeh sought to develop a system of education that would enable students to bring their learning from their minds –- to their hearts and souls –- and into their lives.

As a result of this search, Aryeh founded Ayeka: Center for Soulful Jewish Education in 2007. Ayeka is a path-blazing educational approach whose online training program enables rabbis and educators to foster personal and spiritual growth for Jews of all ages and backgrounds. Educators in 10 cities have already been trained in the Ayeka approach and have applied its curriculum in their synagogues and schools.

Aryeh served in the artillery corps of the Israeli army, and lives with his wife Sandra and their six children in Efrat, Israel.
