Writer, storyteller, magical black girl and lover of beignets.
Ashley is a freelance writer and journalist with an interest in pop culture and entertainment with a focus on gender, race and social issues. She's from Michigan, where people drink Vernors as if it cures all sickness and graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 2014. She has written for ESSENCE, Paste Magazine, Ebony, Black Girl Nerds, xoJane, For Harriet, Blavity and various newspapers.
When she's not writing, she's listening to The Read podcast, binge watching Living Single and finding the nerve to try to work out...again.
