Ashley Lauren Samsa is a high school English teacher in the suburbs of Chicago, IL and a Senior Editor at Gender Across Borders. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature with a specialization in Creative Writing from Illinois Wesleyan University in 2006, and received a Master of Arts degree in English Studies from Elmhurst College in Illinois in May 2010. She wrote her masters capstone on Literacy in the Feminist Blogging Community, which she presented at the 2010 Contemporary Women's Writing Network conference at San Diego State University. Aside from teaching and writing, she also works to advocate for women's rights in small ways within her community.
