Axl Hazarika is a multi-genre music composer and producer from Guwahati, Assam, who started from heavy metal and rock in early 2008 to making the first Assamese electronic music video in 2015. ‘Goru Bihu Song’, the first Assamese EDM/experimental video based on the theme of Goru Bihu festival, was released in May 2016 under Axl’s electronic project Rainbow Trip. The video has amassed a massive million views on YouTube and much publicity in popular media. Axl Hazarika is a super-versatile composer who loves experimenting with industrial and avant-garde stuff. His creations do not represent a single style in totality, he rather makes rock, metal, edm, industrial, trance, whatever the mood and moments suggest. Axl is currently involved in a lead role in developing northeast India’s largest government-run digital archive – Jyoti Chitraban Digital Archive, that aims to store and preserve for posterity archival materials of all kinds including music, videos, films, documentaries, texts, and photographs. Axl is also the co-founder of Celebstan, one of the top 8 innovative startup ideas selected under the IIMAverick Program of the Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE), IIM Ahmedabad this year. Under this program, every year IIM Ahmedabad selects top 5 to 10 innovative startup ideas, which they believe to have potential to become one of the top 500 companies in India.
