President, Catalogue for Philanthropy: Greater Washington and Executive Director, Harman Family Foundation

Barbara Harman is Executive Director of the Harman Family Foundation,
and President of the Catalogue for Philanthropy: Greater Washington (cfp-dc.org). The Catalogue vets, features, and supports the best community-based nonprofits in the Washington region and has helped raise $22 million in the last decade. The Foundation makes grants to education programs for low-income children, and to programs that integrate youth development and the arts, primarily in Washington, DC and New York. Harman is also Professor Emerita at Wellesley College, where she taught English for twenty-five years and wrote numerous essays and several books on Renaissance and Victorian subjects. She now speaks and writes about philanthropy.
