Dr. Barbara Stanley is Professor of Medical Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at Columbia University. She is the Director of Suicide Prevention Training in the Center for Practice Innovations at New York State Psychiatric Institute. She is also a Research Scientist at the Institute conducting research on suicidal behavior, self injury and borderline personality disorder. She is a practicing clinical psychologist in New York City.
