BasicNeeds

BasicNeeds is an international development organization founded by Chris Underhill. Since mental health remains a neglected issue in global health, BasicNeeds works to bring about a lasting change in the lives of people with mental illness and epilepsy around the world. BasicNeeds operates its Model for Mental Health & Development in 12 countries of Africa and Asia combining access to regular community-based treatment with livelihoods support to alleviate household poverty and initiatives to overcome stigma and abuse. Since 2000, we have reached 580,130 people with mental illness and epilepsy, their caretakers and family members.
