Batoul Abuharb is a first year optometry student at the University of Houston College of Optometry. Batoul also conducted research related to vaccinations in UNRWA clinics in the Gaza Strip and is co-founder of Dunia Health, a non-profit global health start up. Dunia Health strives to develop low-cost technologies and devices with mobile phone interfaces that allow clinicians in low-resource areas the ability to dedicate more time to patients instead of menial tasks.
