Dr. Beatrice Sakwa

Director, Impact Evaluation & Monitoring at KickStart International

Dr. Sakwa develops and manages KickStart International’s impact evaluation and monitoring activities at KickStart. She has conducted numerous studies on rural livelihoods and poverty alleviation. Prior to KickStart, Beatrice worked for over twenty years at the Kenya Agricultural Research Institute (KARI) where she headed the Socio-Economic Section at their research centers in Kakamega, Kenya. She also worked for the International Livestock Research Institute exploring the impact of dairy policies on the intended beneficiaries. She has a Ph.D. in Development Economics from Wageningen University, the Netherlands, a MSc. in Agricultural Economics, and a BSc with honors in Agriculture both from the University of Nairobi.
