Registered dietitian; author, 'The Spark Solution'
Becky is the registered dietitian of the free weight-management and healthy-living website SparkPeople.com, America’s largest diet and fitness website by unique monthly visitors. She developed SparkPeople’s gimmick-free nutrition guidelines and coaches people as they transition to healthy lifestyles. She provides reliable nutrition information and simple healthy eating techniques through articles, blogs, message boards and online demonstrations. She has edited, written chapters for, and consulted on SparkPeople’s books, including a NY Times bestseller, and is the lead author of The Spark Solution (HarperOne, 2013).
Offline, Becky works at a hospital in Batesville, Indiana, providing nutritional care to patients and improving public health community-wide. Becky leads adult group weight-loss programs and a family weight-management program. She designed the hospital’s prenatal care class. Becky helps with school gardens, and conducts cooking demonstrations and family mealtime competitions. To support farmers, Becky works to bring local foods into the cafeteria.
Becky shares her passion for healthy living by volunteering for the Boy Scouts, her local library, 4-H clubs, and sports and band booster clubs.
Becky has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, Cosmo Girl and The Huffington Post, on which she is a blogger. She also has a local radio show.
