A native of Providence, Rhode Island, he has been active in politics since 1978 and was Co-Founder and National Co-Chair of the Democratic National Committee's Saxophone Club during the Clinton era. He has won two Los Angeles Press Club/Southern California Journalism Awards for his political commentary.
