Beth M. Howard is the author of “Making Piece: A Memoir of Love, Loss, and Pie” (Harlequin 2012) and “Ms. American Pie: Buttery Good Recipes and Bold Tales from the American Gothic House” (Race Point, 2014). From 2010 to 2014, she lived in the American Gothic House in Eldon, Iowa, where she ran the Pitchfork Pie Stand. She has written for Real Simple, Country Living, Guideposts, and Natural Health, among other publications. She is a commentator for Tri States Public Radio and blogs at The World Needs More Pie. Her story of making and sharing pie to heal grief has been featured on NPR, CBS This Morning, CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360, AOL.com, Los Angeles Times, USA Today, Miami Herald, and beyond. She has also given a TEDx talk on the subject. She lives on a farm in Southeast Iowa.
