Beth Rubin

Assistant Professor, DePaul University School for New Learning

Beth Rubin, Ph.D., is a Public Voices Fellow with The OpEd Project and an Assistant Professor in DePaul University's School for New Learning (SNL) and the Director of SNL Online, the school's e-learning campus. She studies the effect of learning technologies and organizational practices on the success of online learning, as well as the effects of online learning on the higher education industry. She has led a three-year study of the effects of Learning Management Systems on course outcomes. Her work has been presented at numerous scholarly conferences and published in academic journals such as The Internet and Higher Education. A practitioner-scholar, she also leads all aspects of online operations at the School for New Learning, overseeing curriculum, teaching, instructional design, technology, student services and operations for online courses that support almost half of the school's enrollments. Prior to joining DePaul, she led online instruction, curriculum and operations at several for-profit universities.
