Beth Whitley

charity events & campaigns coordinator, three small people mother-er, has-been teacher, wannabe writer, minimal sleeper

Born and raised in Kent, Beth graduated from the University of Birmingham in 1999 with a first in English. She then spent several years travelling and working abroad in Europe and Australia, before settling back in the UK in 2007, where she continued her secondary school teaching career and added three children of her own into the mix. Since 2010 and the diagnosis of her young daughter with Rett Syndrome, she and her family have become highly involved with fundraising for research to help speed treatments and a cure. In 2015 Beth became a fundraising coordinator for the charity Reverse Rett and in 2016 gave up the teaching career in order to focus fully on the charity work, so she is now technically working to put herself out of a job, at which point maybe she'll get round to writing that book which everyone supposedly has within them . . . maybe.
