In October 2007, Bethany Kandel was diagnosed with breast cancer. She went through two surgeries, chemotherapy and radiation and is currently cancer-free.
She has written on the subject for numerous publications including Reader’s Digest, SHAPE, Parade and Woman’s Day. In 2012, on her fifth cancerversary, she founded the website, breastcancerfreebies.com, which connects breast cancer patients/survivors with hundreds of organizations that offer FREE wigs, hats, scholarships, retreats, prosthetics and much more to help them on their journey.
Bethany has been a staff reporter for the Associated Press, USA Today and the New York Daily News. Her freelance articles have appeared in The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Good Housekeeping, USA Weekend, Parents, Parenting, Travel & Leisure and dozens of other publications and websites.
