Executive Director of the Bowl Championship Series

Bill Hancock is the Executive Director of the Bowl Championship Series. He is the first person ever appointed to the position, which was created in 2009 to manage the daily operations of the BCS, interact with the bowl organizations and television rights holders, and serve as the organization's primary spokesperson. He also oversees the group's governmental relations and public relations efforts. Prior to becoming Executive Director, Hancock had been the BCS Administrator since October, 2005. In 1989 he became the first-ever Director of the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship (the Final Four) and held that post for 13 years. He is a 1972 graduate of the University of Oklahoma and was also a journalist with the Democrat-Chief in Hobart, Oklahoma.
