Bill Spellman

Bill Spellman is Director of the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges, a consortium of 27 member institutions located in 25 states and one Canadian province. He has been a faculty member at the University of North Carolina, Asheville since 1988, serving as department chair in History and Dean of Humanities before joining COPLAC in 2009. His recent publications include A Short History of Western Political Thought (Palgrave, 2011), Uncertain Identity: International Migration since 1945 (Reaktion, 2009) and A Concise History of the World since 1945 (Palgrave, 2008).
