Beth Kissileff is a fiction writer and journalist. Www.bethkissileff.com houses her fiction and non-fiction on Israeli, cultural, literary and religious topics which appear regularly in a variety of publications including the NYTimes.com, Slate.com, Haaretz, the Forward, the Jerusalem Post, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, JewishFiction.net, the Jerusalem Report, TheTower.org, the New York Jewish Week and Tablet. . She has taught English literature, writing, Hebrew Bible and Jewish studies at Carleton College, the University of Minnesota, Smith College and Mount Holyoke College and holds a PhD in comparative literature from the University of Pennsylvania. She edited the anthology Reading Genesis(Continuum, 2016) and plans a Reading Exodus volume. She has received fellowships from the Corporation of Yaddo, the Ragdale Foundation, the Virginia Center for Creative Arts, the Lilly Endowment and the National Endowment for the Humanities. Her first novel Questioning Return was published in November 2016; she is at work on a short story collection, a volume of linked stories and a second novel.
