Robert Dreyfuss is the author of Devil's Game: How the United States Helped Unleash Fundamentalist Islam (Henry Holt/Metropolitan Books, 2005).

An independent journalist based in Alexandria, Virginia, Dreyfuss covers national security for Rolling Stone, has written extensively on Iraq and the war on terrorism for The Nation, The American Prospect, and Mother Jones. He has appeared on NPR, MSNBC, CNBC, and many other broadcast outlets, and wrote the blog "The Dreyfuss Report" for TomPaine.com, which now appears on his web site, www.robertdreyfuss.com.

His articles have appeared in many magazines, including The New Republic, In These Times, and Middle East Policy.

He is a graduate of Columbia University, but he is suspicious of Ivy League snobs.
