Bob Harris's latest book, The International Bank of Bob: Connecting Our Worlds One $25 Kiva Loan at a Time (Walker/Bloomsbury, 2013), recounts how he went from landing a job as a luxury travel writer for Forbes Traveler to investing all of his pay from that gig in microloans to mom-and-pop businesses in more than 60 developing countries via the charity Kiva.org — and then traveled around the world a second time to meet clients and share their stories from Kenya to Nepal to Peru.

Bob is also the author of Who Hates Whom: Well-Armed Fanatics, Intractable Conflicts, and Various Things Blowing Up (Three Rivers Press, 2007), a pocket guide to dozens of global conflicts, and Prisoner of Trebekistan: A Decade In Jeopardy! (Crown, 2006), a comedic memoir of his thirteen appearances on the quiz show over nearly ten years.

Bob has also worked as a TV writer (Bones, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation), an on-camera presenter (The History Channel's National History Bee and TLC's Mostly True Stories), and an AP award-winning syndicated radio commentator.
