Dr. Boutheina Ben Yaghlane was appointed as the Deputy Finance Minister in the Tunisian Coalition Government in February 2015, representing the Muslim Democrat, Ennahdha Party. She was elected to the parliament from the constituency of Nabeul 1 in the October 2014 elections. Previously Ben Yaghlane was an advisor to Tunisia’s Minister of Regional Development and Planning, responsible for information technology systems for public projects. She was Professor of Business Intelligence at the Higher Institute of Management in Carthage University and has taught at several French universities. She was also the coordinator of the Vocational Master’s program in Entrepreneurship and Entrepreneurial Engineering at IHEC Carthage and a Research Director at the Higher Institute of Management in Tunis. After the Revolution in Tunisia, she helped found the Tounissiet association, an NGO to help empower female leaders in the post-Arab Spring environment. She is active in Tunisia’s civil society and is a member of the Executive Bureau of the Tunisian Management Science Society and the Belief Function Theory and Application Society. Ben Yaghlane obtained her PhD in Management from the Institute for Interdisciplinary Research and Development of Artificial Intelligence. She has authored numerous research articles in specialized journals and international conferences and has helped implement projects with research centers in Tunisia, France, Belgium, UK and the US.
