Bret Caldwell

Bret Caldwell has served as Director of Communications and chief spokesman for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters since 1999. A progressive activist and political operative, Caldwell has worked on numerous campaigns, including Michael Dukakis, Ann Richards, Doug Wilder and an independent campaign to defeat Oliver North. A native Texan, he worked for Speaker Jim Wright (D-TX), Rep. Jim Chapman (D-TX) and Rep. David Price (D-NC). Prior to joining the Teamsters, Caldwell was the Deputy Political Director at NARAL. He also currently serves as Chairman of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Labor History Research Center at the George Washington University.
