Strategy for Social Impact

Brian has worked for the last two decades as a leader, strategist, communicator and advocate in political campaigns, social marketing causes and corporate brand building. For the last four years Brian has been a leader building a new creative agency, Enso, developing campaigns for clients like Google, Khan Academy, Omidyar Network, Medium, TOMS, Airbnb and many others. Enso is built with a mission to develop campaigns for world-changing brands to mobilize people to have scaled positive impact two years, as a Senior Strategy Advisor at leading advertising agency, Goodby Silverstein and Partners, Brian led the award winning brand strategy for the launch and rollout for the electric Chevy Volt, the relaunch of the overall Chevy brand and other national brand initiatives. Previously, as a founding member of the senior management team at Al Gore's Alliance for Climate Protection, Brian oversaw the development and execution of the largest social marketing campaign ever on clean energy and climate change. This unprecedented multi-channel communications and advocacy campaign resulted in more than 2.5 million activists signed up in just six months. Brian also served as a primary national spokesperson for the Alliance. Before joining the Alliance, Brian was a Vice President at Penn, Schoen and Berland, a strategic communications and market research firm in New York, where he managed complex market research initiatives and advised Fortune 500 clients on positioning, messaging, and crisis management. And for more than fifteen years, Brian began his career as a strategist on political and issue campaigns at the national, state and local levels including four presidential campaigns and multiple US Senate campaigns. During this time, Brian served as the National Finance Director for the Democratic National Committee for the 2000 presidential campaign, National Deputy Director of a presidential campaign in 2004 and in 2002 was Campaign Manager for a nationally targeted US Senate campaign. Brian received his Bachelor's degree in U.S. History from the University of Texas at Austin and currently lives in Zürich, Switzerland with his family.
